What’s new in LigoPTP  6.43 firmware release

Special Notes

• Due to extensive features in the new Firmware (6.43) it is not possible to downgrade to a 6.3x firmware version. When upgrading from 6.11 (and below), both sides must be upgraded to 6.32 or the link might not communicate. The 6.32 is a transitional firmware allowing device further upgrade to 6.43 version. This version has a major enhancement to the wireless driver that requires both sides of the link to be upgraded.
• There are different versions of firmware for each model, based on hardware revisions (6.32 version only).

General

• One FW image for all models (starting from 6.4x version)
• Added WNMS agent support
• Added external OLED module support. OLED module allows to get device status, view main statistics and configuration parameters, run a link test or antenna alignment tools, make a reset or reboot actions.

Web Interface

• Added GUI High contrast mode to ease devices outdoor configuration when sun is shining brightly
• Added radio check feature, to inform user if the radio part malfunctions (allows troubleshoot quicker).
• Improved Status tab refreshing. Information tabs are refreshed when user is switching them.
• Fixed login sessions handling. Some times user after successful login was rejected.
• Fixed Link test tool startup in GUI (was not working in 6.42).

Core Firmware

• Fixed encrypted PTP link initiation issue if UDP multicast traffic goes from master to slave unit.
• Fixed Public safety channel width and frequency listing

What’s new in LigoPTP  6.32 firmware release

Special Notes

• The 6.32 is a transitional firmware allowing device further upgrade to 6.4x versions. The new software updates include core changes that allow to have one Firmware image for all hardware revisions. Due to core improvement it is not possible to downgrade to a previous firmware version. When upgrading from 6.11 (and below), both sides must be upgraded to 6.32 or the link might not communicate.

• There are different versions of firmware for each model, based on hardware revisions (6.32 version only).

Core Firmware

• Fixed SNMP memory leak issue after leaving snmpwalk for some time.

Special Notes

• This version has a major enhancement to the wireless driver that requires both sides of the link to be upgraded. When upgrading from 6.11 (and below), both sides must be upgraded to 6.30+ or the link might not communicate.
• There are different versions of firmware for each model, based on hardware revisions.

Web Interface

• Antenna Alignment Tool now shows RSSI value (updated every second)
• «Link ID» can now be changed instantly
• Improved functionality of signal percentage bar in footer

Core Firmware

• Fixed bug when upgrading that caused management VLAN to disappear on ethernet interface

Special Notes

• This version has a major enhancement to the wireless driver that requires both sides of the link to be upgraded. When upgrading from 6.11, both sides must be upgraded to 6.30 or the link might not communicate.
• There are different versions of firmware for each model, based on hardware revisions.

Web Interface

• Web interface now implements flex/flash interface
• Instant changes now supported in web interface
• Real time graphing / logging of important values (RSSI / Throughput / etc)
• New single direction linktest implemented

Core Firmware

• Slave always follows master (no more need to set frequency on slave)
• Added selectable frequencies for 40MHz channels
• Created custom SNMP MIBs for monitoring of non-standard values (RSSI, etc)
• Added support for SMTP / SNMP Alerts
• Now supports up to 1800 byte packet passthrough
• Now does not use «Peer ID» (or MAC address) to limit connections
• ath0 mac is now cloned from eth0
• Changed SNMP ifSpeed from static 10Mbit on wireless link
• Added additional information in troubleshooting file

Special Notes

• This version has a major enhancement to the wireless driver that requires both sides of the link to be upgraded. When upgrading from 6.01, both sides must be upgraded to 6.11 or there will be a major decrease in performance.

Resolved Issues

• Link won’t establish with poor signal strength – ANI enabled by default (build 20579)
• TX Power on slave unit is ignored
• PTP driver causing unit to ‘lock up’ or reboot
• Antenna Alignment tool not updating quickly enough
• Signal Strength does not update
• Association Data Rate always displays as 36Mbps
• 5GHz PTP problems when using EU country codes
• Problems with AES encryption
• Problems with 40MHz channels in web interface
• Radio does not initialize correctly when using 5/10MHz channel sizes

Initial Release
