Point to point link of 118 km to connect an oil field in Colombia

Client “PAREX RESOURCES” -http://www.parexresources.com/- required a long distance link to allow communication for a remote location without any telecom infrastructure and no cellular coverage.
Site A: Cerro el Venado
Coordinates: Latitude 5°21’9.28″N, Longitude 72°25’18.12″O
Height above sea level: 900m (2950 ft.)
Site B: Oil field Celtis
Coordinates: Latitude 5°40’6.47″N, Longitude 71°24’6.50″O
Height above sea level: 155m (508 ft.)
Solution:
With the expertise in telecommunication, installations on remote locations and taking in consideration the long distance requirement for connecting an oil field in Columbia it was decided to install LigoWave radios from the PTP series.
The equipment has shown an exceptional performance on long distance links that require high availability and performance. LigoPTP 5-N PRO models with dish antennas of 34 dBi were installed. The results can be seen in tables below:
