The main goal of the project was<br \/>\nto extend the coverage of Islands\u2019 Wi \u2013 fi area. The enterprise AIRNETWORX was initiated due to the fact that connectivity<br \/>\nprovided by the local telecom in the northern part of the Island was relatively poor.<br \/>\nThe architecture, design, engineering and implementation of AIRNETWORX have been done by Sistem Co Ltd, while LigoWave<br \/>\nexperts have provided their support and technical knowledge.<\/p>\n<h2>Challenges<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ligowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/icon-piggy-bank.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-400 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/ligowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/icon-piggy-bank-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"icon-piggy-bank\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ligowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/icon-piggy-bank-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.ligowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/icon-piggy-bank.jpg 174w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nCost \u2013 although the application called for equipment with excellent quality, the solution needed to be<br \/>\ncost-effective.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix divider\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ligowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/icon-hills.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-399 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/ligowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/icon-hills-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"icon-hills\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ligowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/icon-hills-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.ligowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/icon-hills.jpg 175w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nUnusual landscape and network topology required a professional backhaul solution capabale of delivering<br \/>\nhigh throughput even to the distant locations. High PPS (packet per second rate) was necessary to ensure<br \/>\nsufficient data transmission over the network.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix divider\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ligowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/icon-waves.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-401 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/ligowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/icon-waves-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"icon-waves\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ligowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/icon-waves-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.ligowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/icon-waves.jpg 175w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>The noisy spectrum in some areas of equipment deployment has been experienced due to GSM stations<br \/>\nand other wireless networks. The obstacle was successfully eliminated by manufacturing and installing the<br \/>\naluminum shields behind the antennas by the GSM base stations. The next struggle has been experienced with<br \/>\ndifferent dish and frequency utilization. At most times it was a success though a lot of time should have been<br \/>\ndevoted for installing the devices at the necessary signal level.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix divider\"><\/div>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Solution<\/h2>\n<p>The telecommunications infrastructure was not used. The distance<br \/>\nfrom the base stations to the clients\u2018 site was on average 7 km ( <strong>DLB \u2013 5M \u2013 18<\/strong>) and 3 km ( <strong>DLB \u2013 Propeller 5<\/strong>). The<br \/>\nperformance evaluated by data throughput is different due to spectrum, yet in all locations reaches 8 Mbps for each CPE.<br \/>\nThe first year of the projects\u2019 AIRNETWORX implementation, involved creating the reliable infrastructure, in parallel with<br \/>\nproviding internet services for the users, while in the following two years, the improvements were made on purpose to obtain a<br \/>\nbetter performance in the wireless network.<\/p>\n<p>AIRNETWORX is still in a development phase and is continuously growing. Sistem Co Ltd. provides internet services covering<br \/>\n1800 km of North Cyprus. They are providing 130 Mbps wireless services in 4 main cities and more than 200 villages of the<br \/>\nIsland. Their aim is to continue expanding the network to cover an area of 2800 Km2.<\/p>\n<p>AIRNETWORX is also providing L2 and L3 services via its network.
